Basketball Game Preview: Hurley Northstars vs. Washburn Castle Guards

The Hurley Northstars will square off against the Washburn Castle Guards at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Hurley beat Solon Springs 52-46. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Northstars.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Washburn). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging an 81-16 victory over Butternut. The Castle Guards have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Hurley's win bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Washburn, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-10.

Hurley was dealt a bruising 61-25 defeat at the hands of Washburn in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Hurley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
