Florida high school football: Owen Beach of Alonso leads state rushing yardage leaders

Senior running back has rushed for 781 yards through four contests.

According to statistics submitted to MaxPreps, senior Owen Beach of Alonso (Tampa) leads Florida high school football in rushing yardage. See the complete list of the top 50 rushers in the state below.

Beach has rushed for 781 yards on 87 carries and helped the Ravens to a record of 4-0. Against Spoto (Riverview) on Sept. 8, the running back carried 21 times for 301 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 42-33 victory.

Cole Tabb of Choctawhatchee (Fort Walton Beach) is second with 750 rushing yards. He carried 19 times for 365 yards and four touchdowns in a 49-27 victory over Crestview on Sept. 8.

Sophomore Amari Clemons of Marianna is in the state's top 10 with 630 rushing yards on 64 carries. The second-year running back also leads the state in total touchdowns with 18 for the 4-0 Bulldogs.
