Baseball Game Preview: Skyline Raiders vs. Cedar Hill Longhorns

Skyline hasn't had much luck against Cedar Hill recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Skyline Raiders will head out on the road to challenge the Cedar Hill Longhorns at 7:00 p.m.

Skyline lost 15-1 to Cedar Hill on Tuesday. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Cedar Hill's part, Julian Gonzalez was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. What's more, Gonzalez gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had over his last three contests. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Cedar Hill got a massive performance out of Reginald Samuel, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Samuel a new career-high in runs. Denver Gillin was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Cedar Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Skyline only posted an OBP of .292.

Cedar Hill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.1 runs over those games. Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
