Volleyball Recap: Bishop Brossart Comes Up Short on the Road Against Highlands

Bishop Brossart had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Highlands Bluebirds. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Bluebirds recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

While Bishop Brossart ultimately came up short, they really made Highlands work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 27-25, 25-20.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Highlands to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Muzumdar, who had six digs and two aces. That's the most aces Muzumdar has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Gessner, who had 12 digs.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Brossart will challenge Holy Cross at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Highlands, they will face off against Notre Dame Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
