Volleyball Recap: Tough Loss for Solon

After flying high against Shaker Heights on Saturday, Solon came back down to earth. The Comets came up short against the Highland Hornets on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

While Solon was not able to put a set on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final set scores came out to 25-22, 25-16, 25-16.

Highland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gigi Shank led the charge by getting 13 kills and four digs. Another player making a difference was Payton Hrics, who had 19 assists and six digs.

Solon has now lost 12 of their last 14 games on the road. That gives them a 5-5 record this season. As for Highland, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Solon is set to challenge their familiar foe North Royalton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Highland will take on their in-conference opponent Wadsworth at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
