St. Johnsbury Academy's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Burlington Seahorses, sneaking past 3-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Hilltoppers as it spelled an end to their five-match losing streak.

St. Johnsbury Academy was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (101-90), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 12-25, 13-25, 25-18, 15-13.

Brooke Bogle paced St. Johnsbury Academy's offense, picking up seven kills. Bogle got some help from Teagan Berquist and her ten assists. Bogle was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Despite the defeat, Burlington had strong showings from Mae Yenkavitch, who had eight aces, and Harper Gutheim, who had 14 kills, two aces, and one block. With that strong performance, Gutheim is now averaging an impressive 5.3 kills per game.

St. Johnsbury Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Burlington, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, St. Johnsbury Academy will be playing at home against Rice Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Burlington, they will head out to challenge Bellows Free Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
