Winthrop scored the most runs they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Northeast Metro RVT Knights by a score of 26-25. The Vikings just can't catch a break and have now endured seven defeats in a row.

Sofia Gonzalez stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she got on base in three of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Kylie McFarland, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Winthrop's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Northeast Metro RVT, their win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-9.

Winthrop does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northeast Metro RVT, they will welcome Saugus at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
