Softball Recap: Hammond Central Comes Up Short

Hammond Central lost to Washington Township back in May of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wolves came up short against the Senators, falling 13-6. The Wolves just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Prisilla Cornejo stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Raven Jo Floyd, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Hammond Central's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Washington Township, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Hammond Central will challenge Hammond Morton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Washington Township, they will face off against Marquette Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
