Eastside Catholic jumped into the top 25 in the state rankings. Eastside Catholic moved up from No. 27 in the state all the way to No. 8 thanks to a 2-0 record over the past week. Led by manager Kyle Larsen, the Crusaders are ranked No. 727 in the nation with an overall record of 17-6.
The Crusaders' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing eight hits and three walks to lead the league in both categories. Eastside Catholic has given up a mere 128 hits on the year, while striking out 142 opposing hitters.
Alex Foley is the leader in that category with 43 Ks on the season.
The Fighting Irish led the league in hits this week with 75, but
Hale is still the season leader, with 187.
Pierre Ledorze has a team-best 20 hits this year, and O'Dea went 1-1 this week.
The Fighting Irish's LeDorze finished his week with 11 hits, tops in the league. His 20 hits for the year are fourteenth in the league, and he boasts a .351 batting average.
