Softball Recap: Bishop Fenwick Comes Up Short

After flying high against Bishop Stang on Wednesday, Bishop Fenwick came back down to earth. The Crusaders fell just short of the Peabody Veterans Memorial Tanners by a score of 7-6 on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Crusaders of the 19-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Bishop Fenwick dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Peabody Veterans Memorial, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Fenwick will challenge Arlington Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on the 28th. As for Peabody Veterans Memorial, they will square off against Gloucester at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
