Baseball Game Preview: Vienna Eagles vs. Gallatin County Hawks

The Vienna Eagles will challenge the Gallatin County Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Vienna will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Wednesday. Vienna walked away with a 7-2 victory over Eldorado. Vienna hasn't had any issues with Eldorado recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Sean Crabb and Jasper Glass did most of the damage at the plate: Crabb went 2-for-4 with one home run, while Glass went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Glass has posted since back in April. Keaton Vinson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Meanwhile, Gallatin County hadn't done well against Frankfort recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Hawks walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Redbirds.

The team relied heavily on Skylar Barnett, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Brockett, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Vienna's win bumped their record up to 15-17. As for Gallatin County, their victory bumped their record up to 14-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Vienna has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Gallatin County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
