Whitesboro won against Blue Ridge last Friday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Whitesboro Bearcats beat the Ponder Lions by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-1. For the Bearcats, this counts as revenge for the 6-0 victory the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Whitesboro and bumps their season record up to 5-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Ponder, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-7.

Whitesboro will have a chance to go back-to-back against Ponder: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
