Basketball Game Preview: Seven Lakes Spartans vs. Lamar Texans

The Seven Lakes Spartans will challenge the Lamar Texans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Seven Lakes' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 18 contests.

Seven Lakes is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 83-43 victory over Alief Elsik. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Lamar waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 68-59 win over the Cougars. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Texans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 344th, while the Cougars are ranked 158th).

Seven Lakes' win bumped their record up to 31-5. As for Lamar, their victory bumped their record up to 18-15.

Seven Lakes strolled past Lamar in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 63-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seven Lakes since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
