Basketball Recap: Jayden Davidson and Laken Jolly Secure Win for Rockwood

Rockwood lost to Coalfield back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Rockwood Tigers secured a 44-40 W over the Coalfield Yellow Jackets. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Rockwood was led to victory by Laken Jolly and Jayden Davidson. Jolly went 5 of 10 on his way to 16 points, while Davidson posted 17 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Jolly a new career-high in points.

Rockwood's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Coalfield, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

Rockwood and Sunbright will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Sunbright will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Rockwood surely won't give up without a fight. As for Coalfield, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Oneida at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
