Softball Recap: Sherwood Marksmen vs. Early Panthers
After flying high against Lincoln College Prep last Wednesday, Sherwood came back down to earth. The Sherwood Marksmen lost 13-3 to the Early Panthers on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Marksmen of the 1-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2022.
Victoria Sullins was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadynce Hill, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Sherwood's defeat dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Early, they pushed their record up to 13-18 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Sherwood will take on Montrose at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Montrose is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season. As for Early, they will square off against Laquey at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
