Marathon posted their biggest victory since March 2, 2024 on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Athens Bluejays as the Marathon Red Raiders made off with a 72-48 win. Given the Red Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Bluejays are ranked 424th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marathon is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points per game. As for Athens, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Marathon has already played their next matchup (against Mosinee), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Athens will host Rib Lake at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
