It may have taken  eight innings to finish the job, but Monta Vista ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Saratoga Falcons  5-4. The  win continues a trend for the Matadors in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won four in a row.
Monta Vista got a great performance from  Aiden Koppes as he  pitched six innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   five  hits. Koppes has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, Monta Vista saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Tim Yin, who  went 1-for-3 with one  run. Another  was  Sravik Sajja, who  earned one  RBI, one  run,  and two  stolen bases.
Monta Vista's record is now 13-7. As for Saratoga, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record  this season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monta Vista will take on Terra Nova at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8  runs per game  this season, so the Matadors' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Saratoga, they will face off against Prospect at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
