Baseball Recap: Dobson Comes Up Short

Dobson extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 20 on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-15. They lost 27-0 to the Red Mountain Mountain Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mountain Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 on Tuesday.

As for Red Mountain, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-3. The result was nothing new for the Mountain Lions, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

For Red Mountain's part, Jimmy McCarthy looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. McCarthy has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Keith Price was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Simeon Johnson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Looking ahead, Dobson will take on Mountain View at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Red Mountain, they will face off against O'Connor at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
