Central proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 37) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won a match that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Jefferson Blue Jays 21-20. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Blue Jays recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Central's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Central and Jefferson will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Rebels will challenge rival Fredericktown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Jefferson is set to square off against their familiar foe Herculaneum at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
