Basketball Game Preview: Madera Coyotes vs. Sanger West Hornets

The Madera Coyotes will challenge the Sanger West Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Wednesday, Madera needed a bit of extra time to put away Justin Garza. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Guardians, sneaking past 64-62. The win was all the more spectacular given the Coyotes' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 680th, while the Guardians are ranked 337th).

Meanwhile, Sanger West had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Madera South with a 72-68 victory on Wednesday.

The win got Madera back to even at 12-12. As for Sanger West, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-11.

Madera barely slipped by Sanger West when the teams last played on January 15th, winning 53-52. Will Madera repeat their success, or does Sanger West have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
