Sardis came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Boaz Pirates by a score of 5-2. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 7-4 victory the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Sardis' win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-9. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Boaz, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 16-7.

Sardis and Boaz should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Sardis (ranked 72nd) will meet Crossville (ranked 384th) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Boaz will square off against Oneonta at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (65 vs. 228).
