Basketball Recap: Riverside Has No Trouble Against Catlin Gabel

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rainier, Riverside was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Catlin Gabel Eagles with a sharp 47-23 victory. That looming 47-23 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Pirates yet this season.

Justien Tido was the offensive standout of the game as she posted 14 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Abrianna Lomeli, who put up nine points in addition to six boards and four steals.

The win got Riverside back to even at 5-5. As for Catlin Gabel, their defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Heppner at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Catlin Gabel, they will welcome Westside Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
