Basketball Recap: Urbana University Comes Up Short

Urbana University lost against Arcola back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Illineks took a 36-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Purple Riders.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Arcola to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brody Phillips, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 13 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Canton Wesch, who posted nine points.

Urbana University's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Arcola, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1.

Urbana University didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 48-40 win against Heritage on the 2nd. As for Arcola, they have also already played their next contest, a 32-30 victory against Salt Fork on the 2nd.
