Basketball Game Preview: Hardin Hornets vs. Kountze Lions

Hardin hasn't had much luck against Kountze recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Hardin Hornets will be home for the holidays to greet the Kountze Lions at 5:45 p.m.

Hardin is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Friday. They were dealt a 59-28 defeat at the hands of Hamshire-Fannett. The game marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Kountze had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They snuck past the Bobcats with a 58-53 victory. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while the Bobcats are ranked 522nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kountze pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30 points. As for Hardin, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
