Softball Recap: Hanford Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Hanford walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Kamiakin Braves a 2-0 shutout on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Falcons: when they faced off against the Braves back in April, they had to take a 5-4 loss.

The result came thanks to Heidi Sweet's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 19 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Neve Jimenez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Moss, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Hanford has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Kamiakin, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-7.

Hanford has already played their next game (against Chiawana), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Kamiakin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
