Basketball Recap: Meghyn Bennett's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Juniata Christian over Springfield Christian Academy

Juniata Christian lost against Springfield Christian Academy back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Juniata Christian Eagles came up short against Springfield Christian Academy, falling 47-27. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Meghyn Bennett, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Abigail White was another key player, putting up four points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Springfield Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Kaylin Zettle, who posted 17 points and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Zettle has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Colbie Combs, who earned nine points and four steals.

Juniata Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Springfield Christian Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Juniata Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 21-16 victory against Fostoria Baptist Academy on the 21st. Springfield Christian Academy has also already played their next contest (against Immanuel Baptist), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
