Football Recap: Mount Olive Christian Falls Short Against Ranked Northshore V

Mount Olive Christian faced Northshore V in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Mount Olive Christian was beaten by Northshore V 64-36. Even if Mount Olive Christian couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Despite the loss, Mount Olive Christian still got an impressive performance from Elias Martinez, who rushed for 215 yards and four TDs on only 14 carries, and also threw for 130 yards and one touchdown. Martinez's longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards. Eliseo Martinez was another key player, gaining 181 total yards and a touchdown.

Mount Olive Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Northshore V, they moved to 2-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Mount Olive Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 60-0 defeat against First Baptist Christian on the 2nd. As for Northshore V, they have also already played their next matchup, a 41-6 loss against Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool on the 4th.
