Baseball Recap: Weston Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Weston ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top against the Acton-Boxborough Revolution by a score of 6-3. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Revolution recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Aidan Murphy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over eight innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Ben Meade was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Ryuji Nawa was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Weston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Acton-Boxborough only managed five hits.

Weston's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Acton-Boxborough, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
