Basketball Recap: Heilan Barrick's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Poudre Community Academy over STEM School Highlands Ranch

Poudre Community Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 67-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the STEM School Highlands Ranch Spartans.

Poudre Community Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Heilan Barrick, who posted 18 points and four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last three times he's played. Kevin Swanson was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Poudre Community Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for STEM School Highlands Ranch, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Poudre Community Academy will take on Ascent Classical Academy at 6:30 p.m. on February 19th. As for STEM School Highlands Ranch, they will face off against Mile High Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
