Basketball Game Preview: Mead Raiders vs. Falls City Tigers

The Mead Raiders will take on the Falls City Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mead is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Mead's tournament run continued when they took on Johnson County Central on Monday. Mead was dealt a 63-12 loss at the hands of Johnson County Central. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 107th).

Elizabeth Brennan was Mead's leading scorer, having posted six points. Brennan also led the team in rebounds with five.

Meanwhile, Falls City played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Freeman, falling 50-22. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Falls City's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Mead, their loss dropped their record down to 1-16.

Mead lost to Falls City on the road by a decisive 41-23 margin in their previous matchup back in January. Can Mead avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
