Softball Game Preview: Davis Darts vs. Cyprus Pirates

The Davis Darts will square off against the Cyprus Pirates at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Davis will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.

Davis is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Bountiful, who was ranked tenth at the time (Davis was ranked 12th). The Darts' pitcher stepped up to hand the RedHawks a 2-0 shutout on Friday.

The result came thanks to Serena Roth's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Hadlee Isaacs was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Garlock, who earned one run and three stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Cyprus suffered their closest defeat since May 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of West Field by a score of 4-2.

Calee Sharp made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Adelaide ( Addie ) Winn was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Davis' victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Cyprus, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Davis hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Cyprus struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs.
