Baseball Game Preview: Oakwood Lumberjacks vs. Bethel Bees

The Oakwood Lumberjacks are taking a road trip to face off against the Bethel Bees at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Oakwood comes in on four and Bethel on five.

If Oakwood beats Bethel with ten runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Lumberjacks were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Sidney on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Lumberjacks, who have now won three contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Josh Tribble, who gave up just a hit to keep Sidney off the board. Tribble has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cooper Francis was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Nate Ferra, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Bethel narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Milton-Union 3-2.

The team relied heavily on Hayden Hobert, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Oakwood's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bethel, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
