Softball Recap: Capital Jaguars vs. Manzano Monarchs

Capital had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 24-19 win over the Manzano Monarchs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Capital also won the last time the pair played on Saturday.

Capital got a massive performance out of Amaya Batista, who went 3-for-6 with a home run, five RBI, and three runs. Brooke Salazar was another key contributor, scoring four runs while going 5-for-5.

On Manzano's side, Shania Aragon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Aragon is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Gia Padilla, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Capital's victory bumped their record up to 12-14. As for Manzano, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-19 record this season.

As of now, neither Capital nor Manzano have any future games scheduled.
