The Canyon Crest Academy Ravens will take on the Westview Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Canyon Crest Academy has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Canyon Crest Academy picked up another tournament win on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Oceanside, sneaking past 3-2.

Jinho Bae looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Canyon Crest Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-2-1 otherwise.
At the plate, Ryan Shah was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Canyon Crest Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-0-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Henry Schmidt, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Westview owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They put the hurt on Valley Center with a sharp 7-0 win. The match marked the Wolverines' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Jacob Kuy made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-low in hits. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Holeman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Mahir Desai was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Westview's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Canyon Crest Academy, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3-1.
Canyon Crest Academy might still be hurting after the 13-4 defeat they got from Westview when the teams last played back in May of 2023.
