The St. Edward's Pirates will take on the Space Coast Vipers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

St. Edward's took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 37-23 victory over Orangewood Christian.

St. Edward's had a senior duo take command as Nicky Colontrelle picked up 231 receiving yards and three touchdowns and Nate Sparkman threw for 383 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.5% of his passes. With that strong performance, Colontrelle is now averaging an impressive 126.5 receiving yards per game.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, St. Edward's was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 464 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orangewood Christian only gained 195.

Meanwhile, Space Coast got themselves on the board against Gateway on Friday, but Gateway never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 40-0 win over the Panthers on the road.

Christopher Mcdonel went supernova for Space Coast, rushing for 93 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Mcdonel's longest rush was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Sandy, who threw for 78 yards and three touchdowns.

Space Coast wouldn't let Gateway keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Alex Banachoski was the leader in that area as all came courtesy of his dominant performance.

The victory got St. Edward's back to even at 1-1. As for Space Coast, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0.
