Soccer Game Preview: Rancho Cotate vs. Montgomery

The Rancho Cotate Cougars will take on the Montgomery Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Montgomery will have to contend with a Rancho Cotate team hungry for a win, something the squad hasn't seen since January 6. Rancho Cotate and Maria Carrillo finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Montgomery had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Jaguars a 1-0 shutout. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Montgomery were the better team in the second half.

Rancho Cotate's draw gives them a new season record of 6-4-5. As for Montgomery, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4-2.
