Pinellas Park hasn't had much luck against Seminole recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Patriots will take on the Warhawks at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Pinellas Park barely beat Countryside the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Patriots never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Tuesday. The Patriots not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 10, 2024.
Ayanah Wilson made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Wilson was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Danielle Overman was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. Bella Birge was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
Pinellas Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Seminole, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against St. Petersburg on Monday by a score of 11-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The victory continues a trend for the Warhawks in their matchups with the Green Devils: they've now won seven in a row.
Lilly Johnson looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kaydin Whitenton was a standout: she scored four runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelina Gomez, who scored three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
Pinellas Park is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Seminole, their record is now 5-8.
Pinellas Park came out on top in a nail-biter against Seminole in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
