Basketball Recap: Bremond Comes Up Short

Bremond lost to Mumford on January 2nd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Tigers lost 42-20 to the Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1298th, while the Mustangs are ranked 636th).

Despite the defeat, Bremond saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jeramiah Morgan posted 13 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 65% of the Tigers' points, marking the third time in a row Morgan has had more than a third of the team's points.

Bremond has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Mumford, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-9.

Coincidentally, Bremond and Mumford will both be playing Somerville the next time they take the court. The Tigers will head out to face the Yeguas at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Mustangs will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
