Volleyball Recap: Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley Has No Trouble Against Norwich RVT

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Norwich Free Academy, Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Norwich RVT Warriors 3-0. Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Norwich RVT, too.

The win didn't come easy: Norwich RVT scored at least 21 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-21, 25-22.

Ryan Rivera paced Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley's offense, picking up 19 kills. Rivera got some help from Christopher Hernandez and his 30 assists. Hernandez and Rivera didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with two apiece.

Despite the defeat, Norwich RVT saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Max Stimson had eight digs and two aces.

Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Norwich RVT, they dropped their record down to 7-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

As for Norwich RVT, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Woodstock Academy on the 15th.
