Baseball Recap: Latexo Takes a Loss

Latexo was the 9-8 winner over Neches when they last played one another back in March of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Latexo fell just short of Neches by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Latexo has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jax Bobbitt was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. MJ Woodard also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Latexo's record is now 1-5. As for Neches, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Latexo Tigers take on Lovelady Lions at 7:00 p.m. on March 18th. As for Neches, they will challenge Centerville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Neches 3.5, Centerville 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
