Basketball Recap: Silver Valley Piles Up the Points Against Hesperia Christian

Silver Valley won the last time they faced Hesperia Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Silver Valley Trojans simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Hesperia Christian Patriots 69-27. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Silver Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Javion Taylor out in front who went 8 for 15 on his way to 17 points and seven boards. Taylor is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Casen Mogan, who went 6 of 9 en route to 16 points.

Silver Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hesperia Christian only racked up four assists.

Hesperia Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Jackson Lake and Ethan Flores. Lake posted eight points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals, while Flores put up eight points along with five boards and three steals. Roderick Taylor also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Silver Valley and bumps their season record up to 10-6. As for Hesperia Christian, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Silver Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-44 victory against Twentynine Palms on the 13th. Hesperia Christian has also already played their next matchup, a 73-63 loss against Bethel Christian on the 13th.
