Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Newnan walked away with it. They escaped with a win on Tuesday against the East Paulding Raiders by the margin of a single free throw, 53-52. 53 seems to be a good number for the Cougars as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Newnan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rylee Cleveland led the charge by putting up 19 points and five steals. That's the most points Cleveland has posted since back in December of 2025. Yevrah Mack was another key player, dropping a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards.

Newnan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Newnan's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 20-9. As for East Paulding, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-12.

Looking ahead, Newnan will head out to square off against Sequoyah at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Chiefs have now posted at least 55 points in their last four games. East Paulding does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
