Preview: Liberty Leopards vs. Garfield G-Men
The Liberty Leopards will head out on the road to face off against the Garfield G-Men at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Liberty comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Thursday, Liberty ended up a good deal behind Newton Falls and lost 43-24.
Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Garfield, as they earned their first road win of the season. They enjoyed a cozy 37-18 victory over Memorial on Thursday. The victory was just what Garfield needed coming off of a 58-20 defeat in their prior game.
Garfield found their leader in underclassman Mandy Cardinal, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Cardinal is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey May, who scored five points.
Liberty's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Garfield, their win bumped their record up to 1-4.
Liberty came up short against Garfield in their previous matchup back in February, falling 43-37. Can Liberty avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
