Basketball Recap: Nativity BVM's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Nativity BVM had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Weatherly with a sharp 74-50 win. The Green Wave have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Nativity BVM's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Dolbin, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. Dolbin is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Layne Pasker, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 18 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Nativity BVM was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Weatherly lost, don't look at Ian Mckeegan. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 18 en route to 20 points. The match was Mckeegan's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Corbin Wagner, who posted ten points and five rebounds.

Nativity BVM is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Weatherly, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-6 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nativity BVM will head out to take on Tri-Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Weatherly, they are taking a road trip to challenge Shenandoah Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
