Basketball Game Preview: Groveport-Madison Cruisers vs. Bishop Watterson Eagles

The Groveport-Madison Cruisers will venture away from home to square off against the Bishop Watterson Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Groveport-Madison has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 28.

On Friday, Groveport-Madison had to suffer through a 58-28 loss at the hands of Teays Valley.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bishop Watterson). They took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging a 64-37 win over St. Francis DeSales. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Stallions are ranked 356th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Groveport-Madison's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Bishop Watterson, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Groveport-Madison ended up a good deal behind Bishop Watterson in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, losing 61-43. Can Groveport-Madison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
