They had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of West Chicago. The Panthers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it ten in a row dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Maine East came into Friday's contest having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Aurora East, posting a 34-6 win on the road.
Maine East can attribute much of their success to Tryfon Giolas, who rushed for eight yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 107 yards on 14 of 21 attempts.
Maine East's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Adonis Larios.
