Basketball Recap: Anniston Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Anniston can now relate to. They lost 61-40 to the Montgomery Catholic Knights on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Knights are ranked 33rd).

Anniston's defeat dropped their record down to 20-7. As for Montgomery Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Montgomery Catholic beat Anniston by a score of 61-37 on Wednesday.
