Shades Valley is a perfect 5-0 against Jackson-Olin since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Mounties will challenge the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. Shades Valley's hitters haven't had much luck over their past five contests, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Shades Valley fell victim to Homewood and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Patriots, falling 19-0.

Shades Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joshua Moore, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Jackson-Olin had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 7-3 win over Woodlawn on Friday.

Jaylen Washington was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. DaTrell Evans was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

Shades Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Jackson-Olin, their victory bumped their record up to 3-19.

Everything went Shades Valley's way against Jackson-Olin in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, as Shades Valley made off with a 13-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mounties since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
