Volleyball Recap: Mica Mountain Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Mica Mountain couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Salpointe Catholic Lancers on Thursday, falling 3-0. The shutout was out of character for the Thunderbolts seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

Mica Mountain took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-21, 25-22.

Salpointe Catholic found their leader in sophomore Reagan Burgle, who had 20 digs and two assists.

Mica Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 20-10. As for Salpointe Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-8 record this season.

Mica Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Salpointe Catholic, they will face off against ALA - Queen Creek at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
