Softball Recap: Matawan Regional Huskies vs. Freehold Boro Colonials

Matawan Regional barely beat Freehold Boro the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Huskies blew past the Colonials 11-1 on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Colonials: they've now won six in a row.

Hayley Maresca made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Maresca was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Matawan Regional got a massive performance out of Sienna Cali, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those three runs gave Cali a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Izzy Weimer, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
